Genome Sequence for the Domestic Horse to Be Unveiled

The Broad Institute's genome-sequencing center in the U.S. has sequenced the whole genome of the domestic horse, in collaboration with an international team of researchers. The Broad Institute is a collaboration between Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The research results have been published in the November 6 edition of the journal Science. Findings from the genome sequence have important implications for improved breeding of horses, the article says. The article can be viewed online at the link below.
