Reinventing the Global Environment Facility's Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel

Related: Environment and Natural Resources

In 2005, Meridian was asked by the Chair of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) to assist in conceptualizing new approaches for obtaining and better integrating advice from the international scientific community into the GEF’s strategic direction and project-level decision making.

Meridian coordinated the development of a proposal with recommendations for new structures and procedures, and then gathered and integrated feedback from the global community of stakeholders. The proposal was adopted by the STAP with support from GEF and its key institutional partners: the United Nations Environment Programme, the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme.
