Colorado Smart Grid Task Force

In 2010, Meridian Institute facilitated and supported the deliberative process of the Colorado Smart Grid Task Force as it worked to develop a report for the Governor of Colorado, the Colorado General Assembly, and the state’s Public Utilities Commission. The report contained recommendations for the transition to a secure, resilient, and technologically advanced electric grid – a “Smart Grid.”

The Colorado Smart Grid Task Force relesed its final report on January 20, 2011. This report will be presented to the Colorado General Assembly, the Governor and the Public Utilities Commission.

The Colorado Smart Grid Task Force was convened under Colorado Senate Bill 10-180 to examine the "feasibility, cost and timing of transitioning to a secure, resilient, and technologically advanced electric grid,” also referred to in this report as the “Smart Grid.” This report outlines the consensus recommendations of the Task Force as well as a number of options for policy makers and leaders to consider when developing policy to govern the transition to a Smart Grid.

The final report is available under the documents section of this project page.
