Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Stakeholder Meetings

Related: Climate Change, Environment and Natural Resources

In early 2008, Meridian Institute staff facilitated a series of public meetings for the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, a division of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources. The purpose of the meetings was to gather input from a broad diversity of stakeholders on proposed new rules for regulating the exploration and production of oil and gas in Colorado. Each meeting addressed a different topic, such as air and water quality impacts, wildlife impacts, and local government infrastructure needs. Participants included representatives of the oil and gas industry, environmental organizations, local government bodies, and more. The Commission utilized the input gathered in its developing new regulations.
