Brominated Flame Retardants and Electronics Conference and Roundtable

Related: Environment and Natural Resources, Health

Meridian facilitated a multi-stakeholder roundtable discussion on the use of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and their alternatives in electronics. The primary purpose of this discussion was to enable an open exchange of information on the use and potential environmental and human health impacts of, and alternatives to, BFRs in electronics.

Forty participants representing county, state, and federal governments, environmental organizations, academia, and industry took part in the conference, which was held in San Francisco in September 2002. The roundtable was viewed as the start of a longer-term, open discussion on potential environmental and human health impacts of BFRs and alternatives to their use.
