Mid-Atlantic Regional Planning Body Inaugural Meeting

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

In September 2013, Meridian Institute facilitated the inaugural meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Planning Body. The meeting, held at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, convened appointed Regional Planning Body members from state, federal, and tribal governments. Approximately 75 members of the public were also in attendance, a number of whom took advantage of public comment opportunities throughout the meeting. The Regional Planning Body discussed a five-year timeline for regional ocean planning; determined an approach, process, and timeline for public engagement, goals, and geographic focus; and reviewed a draft charter.
