Jeff Sterba is Chairman and CEO of PNM Resources, the parent company of PNM, TNMP, and First Choice Power.
Jeff first joined PNM in 1977. He left in 1998 to become Executive Vice President of USEC, a global energy company headquartered in Maryland, but returned to PNM as CEO in 2000. He is on the board of directors for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and actively involved in New Mexico‘s community and economic development efforts.
In early 2007, PNM Resources joined with a subsidiary of Cascade Investment, LLC, the personal investment vehicle for Microsoft founder Bill Gates, to form EnergyCo, an unregulated energy company that will focus on strategic growth opportunities in unregulated energy markets in Texas, the Southwest and elsewhere.
Mr. Sterba attended Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s in economics. Mr. Sterba has conducted post-graduate work in economics at Washington University and was accepted as a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Chicago.
