Mrs.
Hooymans has been a member of the TNO Board of Management since 1 October 2002. She is responsible for the core areas 'TNO Quality of Life', 'TNO Built Environment and Geosciences', TNO Companies BV and the Corporate Staff Department 'Strategy and Planning' as well as "Patents and Licensing'.
Mrs. C.M. (Tini) Hooymans, PhD, was born on 28 August 1951 in Leiden and has two children.
After completing her studies in Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Leiden, Mrs. Hooymans gained her doctorate from the faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the VU University of Amsterdam. She then worked as director of Research at Plant Research International, Managing Director of the Institute of Food Safety (RIKILT-DLO), General Director of the Institute for Applied Plant research and member of the Plant Sciences Board at the Wageningen University and Research Centre.
She is Chairman of the board of the Lorentz - Van Intersonfonds Foundation TNO (LIFT) that creates special chairs which, among other things, promote and enhance cooperation with universities in the form of 30 knowledge centres. She represents TNO on various Leading Technology Institute boards, Basic programmes, NGI programmes, ITER-NL, etc.
