Angela S. Cropper is currently retired from institutional employment. She continues to be actively involved in volunteer positions in sustainable development policy analysis and synthesis and governance and institutional reforms, through a variety of international organizations and through The Cropper Foundation.

Dr. Cropper was appointed Independent Member of the Senate of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago in 2005. She has been extensively involved with a number of NGOs including in the following capacities: Executive Secretary, United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity; Senior Adviser, Environment and Development, Bureau for Development Policy, United Nations Development Program; Adviser in Environment and in Education to the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM); Director of the Division of Functional Cooperation, Secretariat to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Georgetown, Guyana (including Health, Education, Culture, Environment and Development, Women in Development); and Caribbean Representative of International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region and Project Manager for Eastern Caribbean in Population and Development (a USAID-funded project to enhance and equip personnel and facilities in family planning service delivery), Bridgetown, Barbados.

Dr. Cropper serves as President and Member of the Board of Trustees, The Cropper Foundation; Co-chair of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment Panel; Member of the Board, Millennium Ecosystem Assessment; Member, Board of Trustees, Stockholm Environment Institute; Member, Board of Governors, International Development Research Council of Canada; Member, Board of Trustees, SciDevNe; Member, External Advisory Group to the World Bank on implementation of its forest strategy; Member, Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel, Global Environmental Facility; Member and International Vice-Chair, Board of Trustees, International Institute for Sustainable Development, Winnipeg, Canada (third term); and Member and Chairperson, Board of Trustees, Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), Bogor, Indonesia (second term).
