The South African Nanotechnology Initiative (SANi) is extending an invitation to students and scientists in African Union and other countries to submit abstracts for and attend NanoAfrica 2006, the second in a series of conferences organized by SANi to gather domestic and international nanotechnology and nanoscience researchers. The invitation says that the conference is also intended to showcase nanotechnology research taking place in South Africa and potential nanotechnology applications to local industry and academia, as well as to "facilitate interactions between the stakeholder community and government representatives. . ." The invitation says that selected papers submitted for the conference will be published in an issue of the South African Journal of Science.
