Unlocking the Potential of Nano-Enabled Biomaterials
Summary posted by Meridian on 2/19/2009 The 2009 International Conference on Nanotechnology for the Forest Products Industry will be held from June 23-26 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The theme of this year's event is "Unlocking the Potential of Nano-Enabled Biomaterials." This event brings together leading researchers, industry experts, government officials and other stakeholders to share advances and discuss new ideas and concepts in the nanotechnology realm. Dr. Carlo Montemagno, dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, will make the keynote presentation, "Nano-Enabled Biomaterials for Sustainable Living." More than 40 presentations will be included in the technical part of the conference and will focus on: Manufacture and Characterization of Nanostructured Cellulose; Managing Environmental Risks and Concerns; Nanocomposites; Global Challenges; Nanotechnology and Paper; Novel Nanotechnology Applications; Cellulose Nanofiber Synthesis; Emerging Markets; and, Nanoscale Characterization.
