University of Mumbai announces Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology
Summary posted by Meridian on 5/7/2008 The Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology at the University of Mumbai (CNNUM) in India has launched programs focusing on research and development of industry-ready technology and the development of human resources to implement such technology. According to the article, CNNUM plans to meet these goals by recruiting top scientists, engineers, and technologists with cross-disciplinary experience and by establishing an Innovation Park for collaborative research with other national and international institutions and universities. CNNUM also plans to guide government, industry, and society “towards a sustainable pattern of consumption and production” through the use of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
